Big news; the game is out in the wild!

If you backed the campaign at a digital tier, you should get the code for your PDF within 24 hours as soon as itch.io support approves the email!), and then you can get straight into playing! If not, you can get the game here: https://chloem.itch.io/skirmish

We will get to physical printing in the coming weeks, and will continue to keep you posted on any further developments. In the meantime, let us know what you think about Skirmish as you get to play it in the coming days!

Thank you all so so so much,

Chloe and Alyssa

Coming in for a landing
about 3 years ago – Tue, Feb 02, 2021 at 07:01:39 PM

Hey everyone;

We've been working pretty non-stop on Skirmish this past month since I last updated you on here, but we're not going to release in January, and I'm sorry. For the sake of our mental health, we needed to take a moment off the accelerator and go at a healthier pace.

Thankfully, Skirmish is almost ready for release, and we are confirming February 11th as the date Skirmish will be uploaded to itch for you all to download, with the physical copies being sorted out soon after that. We're looking to use the additional time to add extra artwork to the book using the extra funds we raised, so the wait will only make the final product better.

Make sure you have filled in the BackerKit survey, which will be closing on the 5th of February so that we can lock in cards and get ready for printing. We sent out emails to those who haven't completed the survey still (which includes some who backed at the £50 level!), so get those done now if you want to get your rewards when they're sent out.

If you've any questions, drop a comment below.

December Update
over 3 years ago – Sun, Dec 20, 2020 at 04:39:35 PM

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well.

Skirmish is ticking along nicely; we've got all the guest armies finished up, and we are just waiting on one or two last pieces of art before we finish up layouting and send off for the print run! We want to get this into your hands as soon as possible, but we also want to make sure the game is as good as it can be before we deliver it to you. Apologies if you had hoped to give Skirmish as a holiday gift. Our current goal is delivery of the digital version by the end of January, with physical distribution beginning not long afterwards. Hopefully updates will start to speed up once that all gets underway.

We've been spending the last month working on backer armies, which currently feature steam-punk mecha, and unreality powers! The ideas our top backers provided are great, and we'll do our best to provide something good for them.

There shouldn't be too long left to wait before Skirmish is hitting your doorstep (or email inbox), so please bear with us. This is our first Kickstarter project, and it's become clear that we vastly misunderestimated the challenges it would pose. We aim to not have any more delays, and will keep you updated on any further updates, such as when we will be charging cards and going to print.

Have a good holiday season. Don't travel if you can help it. Stay safe.

Surveys Going Out
over 3 years ago – Wed, Oct 14, 2020 at 10:14:00 AM

Hi everyone,

thanks for your patience. This is our first Kickstarter, so we're feeling our way as we go. I'm happy to announce that we will be sending out our Backer Survey this week via BackerKit, where we will also be collecting your shipping fees. You will also be able to buy extra physical copies regardless of the tier you pledged at; consider getting some for your friends and play-group? Either way, the smoke-test (that makes sure everything is working) will soon be going out to 5% of you, with the rest of you getting the survey later in the week. Fill it in as soon as possible- we'll let you know when the survey will be closing, but if you do it when you first see it, you're less likely to forget.

It's especially important that backers at higher tiers respond quickly so we can get to work on the custom content you pledged for.

---

We were recently added as a stretch goal for Brinkwood: The Blood of Tyrants, where we will be making 3 additional armies for Skirmish based on Brinkwood; and the goal was almost immediately reached! If you'd like to get earlier access to the vampiric armies we make for them, consider backing!

If you're coming from Brinkwood's campaign, you can pre-order a copy of Skirmish here. This link is also good for anyone else who missed the campiagn who wants to pre-order, not just vampire fans.

---

On the development front, we've got the rules mostly locked down, and are hard at work on lore and art. As I type, my housemates are having a playtest in the other room! I should get back to helping with that, honestly, so I'll end the update there.

Thanks,

Chloe

Skirmish: Setup Phase Complete
over 3 years ago – Thu, Sep 17, 2020 at 03:31:50 AM

I’m sick at the moment so I’ll keep this brief but; WE FUNDED! THE CAMPAIGN IS OVER! FIREWORKS!

We're hard at work on the game, but here's what we've got so far; the rules are mostly done (they need another pass over or two), lore writing and the Next Chronicle is underway, and me and Alyssa are gonna nap for a while until we get the money Kickstarter is counting right now. After they’re done counting, we'll send out backer surveys. If you've pledged for a physical copy, we'll confirm your delivery address and shipping/postage.

£100 tier backers: we’ll ask for an email address so we can chat about what sort of army you want us to make: Spaceships? Dinosaurs? A really buff orc named after you? Let us know what you want and we'll workshop it with you. Try and keep your ideas publishable and non-problematic.

£50 tier backers: we’ll ask you in the survey what name you want us to use for your lore character.

I think that’s everything for now? Drop a comment below if you’ve any questions. Have a good day gang!

Chloe
